Testosterone safety & monitoring
Testosterone therapy can change red blood cell count (hematocrit), estradiol and other markers. That is why they are rechecked during treatment, and why your provider reviews your history before a first prescription.

Fertility considerations
Testosterone therapy can affect fertility and sperm production. If fertility matters to you now or later, raise it before treatment starts.
Controlled substance & prescription information
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. It is prescribed only after an evaluation by a licensed provider, only when clinically appropriate, and only where state and federal law allow. Continued prescribing requires ongoing monitoring and provider review.
Compounded medication information
Some medications discussed or prescribed through Elixium may be compounded medications. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed.
